Here is the draft script of 'Apple', developed in 2010 through an Arts Victoria grant. 'Apple' is based on the story of Josef Fritzl, who locked his daughter in a cellar for over 20 years.
Developed with Christian Leavesley (director), Adam Cass (dramaturge), and Georgina Capper, Mark Tregonning and Edwina Wren (performers).

Talon Salon scripts - Husbands and Travellers
Here are the two draft scripts of 'Husbands' and 'Travellers', which we didn't do the draft production of in the September 2011 showing.
Husbands
Meet the men in the nail salon, Chin, the nail salon's husband; Paulo, a regular customer; and Benny, a lost soul wandering the streets outside the salon. This is a piece exploring masculinity in the Vietnamese community and our contemporary world, and how it sits alongside the role of women.
Talon Salon Husbands
Travellers
Maly, a Cambodian refugee who grew up in Vietnam, and Tari, a Pakistani man, are both studying in Melbourne. For escape, at nights, after school or after Maly has finished working at the nail salon, they spend time being serenaded by a folk singer in a rowdy backpackers' bar. How does one belong in Australia when their daily existence can be defined by the visa they're on. The influx of Vietnamese people has slowed down, but thousands still arrive each year on marriage or student visas.

Talon Salon
I developed Talon Salon through Kickstart, the artist development program by the Next Wave Festival. Talon Salon is an audio theatre project about nail salon workers, to be listened to within a nail salon. I will present Talon Salon in the Next Wave Festival, 19-27 May 2012. You will come in, pick a nail colour, pick a track, and then sit back and listen while you get your nails done.
Most of the nail salons in Melbourne and Australia are owned and staffed by Vietnamese people. Based on research with actual nail salon workers, there are four short pieces to be listened to in Talon Salon, and they're all about hidden moments in the nail salon world.
I presented a work-in-progress showing on Monday 12 September 2011, guests came to a nail salon, got their nails done while listening to one of three Talon Salon tracks.
Here are four files, representing the work we presented in the showing - a booklet and three MP3s.
#1 - A booklet which we gave to all guests at the work-in-progress showing. The booklet includes visual concepts too for the sites of presentation for Talon Salon in the Next Wave Festival 2012. The wonderful Clare McCracken designed this book and the visual concepts in it.
